Upcoming, the TV audience will have a chance to see Yoona and IU again on the screen. Yoona is preparing will act with male artist - actor Lee Bum Soo in "The Minister and I". About IU, she just confirmed about accepting "Pretty Boy" with handsome actor Jang Geun Suk. Maybe we don't need to introduce their fame of this two girls in music industry. But for media industry, for what reason they received so many invitation?

▶ Not "shy" in front of the camera

Music idols that are active with acting aren't only Yoona and IU. Even dramas or films that are broadcasting, even Krystal f(x) and Min Hyuk CNBlue in "The Heirs" on SBS, or Jung Yong Hwa in "Future's Choice" of KBS.

A director said:”Not shy in front of camera, that is the greatest point of idol actors.” Eventually it is. Though an actor has talented, they will have to face the camera for first time and will find lots of new things. But then, for idol artists that owned full of experience performing on stage, that doesn’t matter for them. They can totally reach out their own instinct.

The fact that an idol artist participates in a film will ensure a certain number of audiences for the drama or film, this can be neglected. Not only fans of that idol artist, but also a number of audiences watching a drama due to a new of that idol artist tries out for acting.

This thing is more true to Yoona and IU, young famous artists of Kpop. “Don’t know how Yoona acts, should we try to watch”,”I heard that IU participated in this”... The audiences think like that, and the ratings of course can’t be low.

Of course it can’t determine that, idol is a ticket that will completely reserved the ratings. There are number of cases where famous idol artists participated, but the story does not grab attention and the audiences won’t continue watching the drama or film.

Actually “The Minister and I” of Yoona are by SM Entertainment’s little company - SM C&C produced, and “Future’s Choice” of Jung Yong Hwa is also a piece of drama by FnC Entertainment. This is a common thing for media industry recently.

But, for the fact that idol artists “continuously” acting like now, a director expressed her/his negative perspective: “Idol artists like Yoona and IU are all over the screen, this brings a mixture happiness and sad for our media industry.”

In the set recently, it can be easily heard complaints “nowadays can’t see any actors”. There are young actors whom are talented as well, that can’t be seen.”

Have to admit for the fact that Korean female actors whom are in age group 20 nowadays, there are special faces that are stand out. So though, not using idol actors, there are no different choices, so the final ending is like that.
