On Channel A's 'Overwhelming 7' recent broadcast, musical actress Choi Hyun Ji called into the
show and talked about her former 'Legally Blonde' musical co-star, Jessica.
Choi Hyun Ji stated, "I was in the musical 'Legally Blonde' with her."
Choi Hyun Ji stated, "At the time, Jessica had very blonde hair and was very thin, so she gave off a very arrogant image like the rumors said. That was how I first saw her."
When asked about Jessica's true personality, though, Choi Hyun Ji continued, "But she was actually not like that. She approached me first saying, 'We're the same age.' She was very easygoing and playful. She was practicing for the scene in which she does a man's tie, but she didn't know how to do it, so she would tie it like a ribbon."
Jung Chan Woo brought up a rumor that she often skipped out on rehearsals and seemed very insincere about it. Choi Hyun Ji said, "That's right, I heard those rumors, too, and took part in the rehearsals, but she wasn't like that in real life. She had such a busy schedule, but she did not show this on stage and always came prepared with the ad-lib. She would work diligently, then behind the stage, she would even faint and be carried away. She worked very diligently."
The MCs brought up that they heard Jessica took care of Choi Hyun Ji's birthday. She exclaimed, "Ah, yes! That's right. In the dressing room, she wrote a happy birthday message by herself, then during curtain call, she was taking something out of her clothes," and revealed it was birthday message that Jessica held up on stage during the curtain call (2:15).
She said she hadn't known about it and was extremely touched, so she likewise wished Jessica a happy birthday by writing a message and uploading onto her SNS. They asked her if she had had any contact with Jessica since her departure from Girls' Generation. Choi Hyun Ji said, "I had not contacted her around the time that happened, but a few months ago, when I went on vacation to Tokyo, I saw Girls' Generation's MV showing in Japan, I messaged her saying what a great achievement and so forth, and that was the last time." Jessica's return message said she would go to see Choi Hyun Ji's performance.
When asked if Jessica or Kim Boo Sun had used their SNS better in relation to addressing a controversial issue, Choi Hyun Ji said it was a hard question, explaining that both women must have had such a hard time to take to SNS like that and how people would think that followers and friends would always be on their side, so they probably had wanted support from their followers and friends.
