Girls Generation Sunny talks about individual projects, promoting as a group, jealousy and hidden talents in SNSD

Sunny Talks about Girls’ Generation, Greed, and Growing Up

During Girls’ Generation’s Sunny's recent Newsen interview she talked about her group promoting together and taking on individual projects.

“We’re pretty much no different from family,” replied Sunny. “We cheer on the members in whatever they do. We realize that even individual activities will, in the end, be seen as a side of Girls’ Generation. We’re always cheering for ourselves [during individual activities].”

Sunny answered, “Rather than saying we were jealous, all nine of us had a lot of greed and tried to take care of our own activities. We had a strong desire to make our presence known more than another member in the group.”

Sunny also said, “We all had different thoughts like, ‘I can do this, I want to do this, I want to sing a solo, I want to act.’ However, there came a time when we started to understand one another. We now know what this person will do well, which activities will help Girls’ Generation. Now, we encourage one another to go take on the activities. We don’t have room to be jealous.”

She was asked if she thinks there are any members who haven't shown their hidden talents yet, Sunny responded, "I think that if Hyoyeon were to do a musical, she would be really good at it. I think she would be a perfect fit for a dance musical... I think that YoonA would suit voice acting for a child character. She has a unique way of saying, 'Eung eung~'. Now that I think about it, I think she would do really well. Please recommend her."

Sunny was also asked if she would pursue an MC role or acting to which she said, "In terms of choosing what kind of work to do, it depends on whether I can handle it or not. I haven't found a program or production that I can confidently say, 'I can do this well,' yet. Since I am the type to always think over things carefully and seriously, there are times when it's hard for me to make a decision... But sooner or later, I won't be on the level of an MC, but I will be active on broadcast with a different image."

"I am also preparing for a new musical. I've done one musical before, and it was a really fun and enjoyable experience and a good memory. I wanted to do it again... I still enjoy practicing countless times and showing my hard work on stage... I don't think I am able to act in front of the camera yet. Maybe later? I do everything that I'm asked to do well, but I don't know how it would turn out."
